And so my father grew up in New York State. I grew up in Delaware. So while I know of my grandfather's past, it's not a thing that I think of, or at least I don't think of my ties to Texas all that often. A few years ago on Facebook, there were some folks who I found who share my last name, or I guess more specifically, they found me and found some others in my family

Now, here's the second thing that I wanted to share, but I want to start out with a disclaimer. I want to make myself 100% clear. In no means am I sharing this because I seek to negate or lessen the importance of the holiday of Juneteen Th. Rather, it's just some additional historical perspective because it's a complicated world, a complicated country, and there was a lot at play

And that's why I think it's so important to recognize this, celebrate this, and make sure that we are thinking about it moving forward. And that's my takeaway to your posts here. Like I said, I really appreciate the history and I really think that you fortified the reasons why we really need to celebrate this and be cognizant of all the ramifications that happen due to our actions and in actions
