#bandontheroad Game of the Week, Week 4

Now, this is one of the biggest games of, as I mentioned, a stacked weekend. This will be where college game day is headed. But as far as the marching band matchup, this one is full of tradition and full of excellence. Both the Ohio State University marching band and the band of the Fighting Irish are subtler trophy winning programs. They are both excellent. They are both heavily steeped in tradition

Amid a stacked slate, one game stands above the rest for the #bandontheroad game of the werk. #80mins

Curtis is definitely a heavyweight fight both the football teams and the bands here. And you mentioned the tradition of Notre Dame and I've been to Notre Dame a few times. Their band is just fantastic. However, I usually don't think of the Notre Dame band when I think about the great bands within the area or within the United States. I don't know why that is. Maybe it's because I went to Indiana and I really don't like to give Notre Dame credit for anything

And if folks choose to go to the bathroom or refill their drink during halftime, then that band did that to themselves. Now, sets like those may seem linked to the drill that we see from HBCUs down south, but rather than either emulating the other, they actually share similar origins. Back during segregation, many black college band directors went to schools in the Midwest for either their undergraduate or graduate education because they could not attend segregated schools down south
