Bully at the work place: Protecting your teen

So when they shoot back, they can't get us, but we want to make sure that they know that we're not going to let our children be messed over. But as a parent, sometimes we have to realize that we have to let our children fight their own battles. And while she's 17, she needs to be prepared for the world. So I have to step back

But my sister was like, she don't want to kind of take up for her and be the mama bear. She don't want to do that, but she also wants to do that because that's her child. And it was something that was very temporary. It was dealing with the scheduling at the job and just certain people's attitude at her. It was pretty much similar to what your daughter going through, minus the extra stuff going on that your daughter, unfortunately, is experiencing

You. Hey, thank you very much for giving your insight and telling the situation that you had witnessed. My daughter, she dealt with anxiety really bad when she was younger, and it was so bad that it stopped her from doing a lot of things. And I had to work with her, and me working with her, it really helped her out a lot. And she was able to face some of the fears that she was dealing with and in that, I want her to prosper

But even though my personality is a bit softer than my sister's personality, we were both raised by my dad, so I knew how to defend myself verbally very well, and I didn't have to do it by yelling or anything. Sometimes we feel like we have to come out of our shell and be like everyone else to solve our problems. So maybe your daughter has a different way to solve her problems

There's going to be some people that give it to you step by step and by the bylaws. And they're the sweetest people around, and you love them from that job prior years ago. But then there's going to be the BITC itches and you have to deal with those, too. But you have to make sure that it's not in a disrespectful manner. Because if someone's talking with her in a disrespectful manner in front of employees

And nobody, I don't know how old you are, but I remember when I was a teenager, it was like, what, new kids on the block or something. I remember having those sheets on the bed, even though that's just music. But music is different today. Now it's listed different stuff. But it's funny because I was actually, when I was younger, I was a Britney Spears fan and I used to listen to her

So I went above their heads to corporate, and they did not like the way that their employees are being treated. But she was at that store. Then she transferred to another Michael's. And then when she got to Michael's, she actually went to five below because it's next door and she wanted to make a little bit extra money. But yeah, at first I did tell my daughter to respond to them
