What was your neighborhood. Like growing up

article image placeholderUploaded by @chitchatwithkk
We were an older town that had a lot of buildings that were antiquish, a lot of homes with bay windows, which is why I love the Victorian style homes. I grew up in a Victorian style home. We were close to the Mississippi River. So a lot of us, when we would have family cookouts, we had catfish fries, fish fries, which was my favorite growing up, and we had barbecues

The society I was in for didn't prepare me for the society that we're at today, especially with the me too, and all the civil rights movements that include everybody except the people that actually worked a b*** off for this country. But we're not going to get into that. But other than that, I really enjoy what you posted, and I'll hear from you soon. No fax lining

Hey, first of all, I want to say that I love, love, love your accent. It's so dope. I love the midwest accent. That's, like, my most favorite accent. And then after that, the east coast. I'm from the east coast, so it's the midwest and the east coast. And then really it the west coast a little bit, but it's really the midwest and the east coast for me. Um, I grew up in the suburbs

My dad actually worked as a ranch hand a lot, so he would come home with, like, the runt cow that the owner didn't want. So we had a cow. We had pigs. We had two pigs, one of which I rode. Long story. Don't ever do it. We had horses at one time, and now we didn't have any kind of fencing or anything to keep these things in. They ran loose. We just lived that far out in the woods

And thank you so much for a great conversation. I will be initiating some myself soon, probably within the next week or so. I just got a few things that I need to tie up business wise, and I want to get involved with having just some meaningful conversations. I hope you have a blessed day and take care. Thank you

And if you want to fish, you flag him down and he would clean the fish right on the back of his truck. Had the scale and everything. When I was real little, I remember the milk man, but I don't remember the ice man. I do remember the milk man. And we was like really behind in our area. I mean, we didn't have black top streets. We didn't have sidewalks or anything

Hey, thank you for applying. Sorry I'm so late in getting back, but yeah, my accent, so I used to hate it because people will be like, oh, I like your voice. I'm like, what's wrong with my voice? You know? And then as I grow grow older, I'm like, okay, well, you know what? I'm just country, and it's gonna be like that

But I did it for a reason, because my kids knew that they knew they're African American, but at the same time, they knew about other people, too. And they learned to love people for not the title of what their culture is, but for who they are. And I will say that I teach my children this. Like, when people have questions, sometimes people are sheltered. In your case, you were sheltered because you were around that culture and you were in a small area

She was from new york and I remember being friends with her and I remember mike, the culture was a little different with friendship, too because I could be a friend with anybody. And if one friend gets mad, I didn't get mad. I could still be friend with other friend or whatever. Or if you're mad at let's say we have victoria and we're mutual friends. You get mad at victoria, I'm still going to talk to victoria

Somebody shot going by the bus stop, shot some kids. Kids shooting kids. I mean, I had a kid in the system that I work in and she had got out and she was killed like during Thanksgiving, had like a newborn baby just killed because then you never know. People don't fight anymore, they just shoot. And so that makes it a little harder in society and people's morals aren't the same. So today's world, it necessarily doesn't matter where you live

I tell people all the time, like, you can't go through life being sheltered and stubborn. We have to educate ourselves because the world is changing. We either change with it or get left behind, right? That's what the saying says. But growing up is definitely the way we grow up is definitely a huge part of life. And I know you talked about Mike having to be strong in society. There is kind of like that struggle phase, and things do change

Yes, I fly and everything, but I just like to be able to go to different places and see things and meet locals, and I'm just that type of person. I don't like to fly over everything and miss what can possibly be a great experience on the ground. So there you have it, and I'm seeing what else? Yeah, so that's just kind of who I am. I'm not a typical, for lack of a better word, New Yorker in that sense
