You also don't want anything too close. You don't want to be hitting it having bust your knee up because you're hitting your tongue. So you want to either play the drum for real, go do like a routine to make sure that everything is in place where you like it. Or you can just airplane be like, yes, this is where I want to hit it. This is where I want to hit it. This is what I do when I warm up
