Hello. The letter of the day for April 8 in our ongoing A to Z Poets Challenge is the letter F. And the poet I am sharing today comes all the way from Pakistan, Faiz Ahmed Faiz. Faiz is a personal favorite and considered one of the most influential poets of the 20th century in Urdu literature. He was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature and his poems have been immortalized by many great singers on Indian subcontinent

So I'm quite excited about it. I mean, I kind of went through some of the poems that he's published and this one is published by the New Yorker back in June 11 of 2018. And this is called The King of Fire and I thought it was a pretty neat poem and I thought I'd like to share. I mean there was like multiple favorites, but this one I really like the I guess the sound and the style of it. So here is the King of Fire

@arish Robert Frost

Irish. It's ironic that your favorite poet begins with the letter F, as my absolute favorite poet does as well. Robert Frost. Robert Frost was an American poet known for his realism and his distaste of free verse. He once compared free verse to playing tennis without the net. But besides finding Robert Frost's poetry full of wisdom, I also love the fact that he spent a lot of time in New England, specifically New Hampshire
