When the "worst thing" happens and what we learn.

My car's bouncing up and down and I slam the brakes on and I just start spinning and I hit something hard and I come to a stop and there's nobody on the highway behind me. It's one in the morning in the middle of nowhere. Texas is a massive state. And I'm just sitting there, and I'm, like, going, okay. Am I okay?

The "worst thing" can often be the provider of gifts.

I didn't hit that concrete culvert on purpose. I didn't even know it was there. I was asleep. But the gift was learning. We're much more than we think we are. We're stronger than we think we are. I one time had a conversation. This was like, seven years after my accident, and I was at a university. At the University of Houston, I met a guy. His name was Jim. Jim was a quadriplegic

Hi, Chad. I really, really enjoyed listening to this story, to this collage of events in your life that made you realize all these different things. It was really beautifully told. And there's one phrase that really stuck out to me and you said that you realized you were more than you thought you were and like, what a gift that is. So it's so powerful. It's such a powerful thing to see in yourself

Hey, Chad. I could not imagine experiencing that. Thank you so much for sharing the totality of the story, and I definitely didn't feel like you were rambling at all. I was definitely in it and was amazed by the story of overcoming the challenges. And, yeah, I mean, if anything was to fit the prompt, I think this is definitely one of the better ones I've heard today about how
