The Fight for Justice
The suspect wouldn't listen to my commands to freeze, but he sure listened to justice long enough to aim his gun straight at her chest. He squeezed the trigger just as justice clamped down on his arm. That bullet barreled way down deep near her heart. Time froze. I remember the grave face of the vet as he tried to prepare me. The whole community pulled together in prayer for my protector. She was a cop, and a good one
