My top five gaming soundtracks

I mean, the first game is good, but the second one takes it to another level. I mean, it's like that house music bumping soundtrack while you're going through each stage beating the crap out of criminals and all kinds of stuff, and it just it's a banger. It's a real banger. And when they brought out Streets of Rage Four, they allow you to be able to change the soundtrack to Streets of Rage, any of the Streets of Rage games, I believe

Even though the graphics were pretty polygonal and the gameplay was in some ways kind of clunky, it didn't matter because the score was so present anyway. I love listening to music, of course, and I go to symphonies and I go to the opera, but I think there is something about the way that music lets you in when it's washing over you as you're playing a game where you're kind of having to focus on something else. I guess it's a little bit like dancing

Shadow of the Empire, also a game, I believe that came out in the Star Wars game. Definitely some of my favorite Star Wars music of all time. And then I think to wrap this up, if we're giving you five, it would be Doom, mick Gordon's soundtrack from The Doom that came out a handful of years ago. Just some really crushing metal riffs. I'm a metal guy, so to hear Mick Gordon put that out, it was great

It's just the five that I put up there are the biggest standouts, and I think because Nintendo is so funny about allowing people to hear their music unless it's through them somehow kind of kept sour taste in my mouth. So that's part of the reason why I don't put them on the top of the list, because I would like to listen to their music a lot more. But I don't have the access unless I go on YouTube, unless they shut those down

Beth was overhearing us listening to when we were talking about the game soundtracks, and she's like, how did I end up putting this conversation? Because I told her, I said that I had mentioned her in the other swell, that she doesn't like the chip tunes and the orkin sounds and the synthesizers and stuff like that. I guess we we look past that because like you said, we play it a thousand times. We play it over and over and over again
