Narcissists and Gaslighting - How Do They Relate? Part 1

article image placeholderUploaded by @Brkntobldness
Narcissists often shower their victims with attention, affection and compliments early on in a relationship. This can make the victim feel special and loved, but it's often part of a larger manipulation tactic. Number two charm and charisma. Narcisses are often very charming and charismatic, which can make them attractive to others. They may use their charm to manipulate and control others and may present a false image of themselves to gain trust and admiration. Number three gaslighting

So just wanted to express some of the thoughts that I was having when you shared this. But I really appreciate this conversation. I think it is so helpful and very needed

But anyway but I could see where someone who has narcissistic tendencies became addicted to, say, like drugs or alcohol. And I think I can see easily how it would exasperate the situation. In other words, make it worse. My best guess or recommendation really would be the person, the victim in this scenario. They really need to know what their boundaries are

I'm glad to know that you're writing about it too, or talking about it. I do think we need to bring more awareness to it. And if everybody could take a step back before they say or do anything, this world would be a much kinder place. And I think a lot of it starts in the home and how children observe their parents talking and treating each other and just kind of what they see. And so it may take a generation or two before we start seeing some improvement
