Oklahoma and Texas are officially joining the SEC. And what does this mean? Well, this means that in 2025, Oklahoma and Texas will be leaving the Big Twelve to join the SEC. Sec. Now the SEC, with the merger of these two teams, will have 16 teams in their field. So what does it mean for the other Big Twelve schools like Oklahoma State, Iowa State, Kansas, Baylor, and whatnot?

The non conference schedule is going to get even weaker than it is now. And I already think it's pretty weak. I think that's what's really special about College football is these non conference match ups in September can be intense. There's been such great games in September and every game counts. So it's like a playoff game in September. And that's what makes College football so special to me

No, Phil, I really don't think you're being dramatic at all. I think teams like you said, Kentucky Vandy, South Carolina. All those bottom tier teams at the moment are really going to struggle with this because like you said, the the race richer, going to get richer. The SEC is now just about making money. It's not about the love of the game with Texas and Oklahoma

I know UCF is in that conference, but let's be honest, UCF is not going to make a run for the title like, let's do it so they might make the playoff, but they're not going to be a title contender. I think in basketball, on the other hand, they have Houston amazing school. You have Baylor, Baylor amazing basketball school. And they have a few others that are really good at basketball that make the turn to make consistently

There'll be a number two rank in the Power Five. They'll probably be bottom tier of the Power Five conference. They'll probably be the fifth ranked Power Five conference if they do pick up Baylor in Iowa State and either a couple of other teams like maybe TCU or Texas Tech or Oklahoma State, or maybe even West Virginia. But if you do think about it, not just in football but in basketball. If they pick up Baylor, they're a really good basketball school with Houston
