It. I always thought of scars as healed. Healed wounds. I found this to be true up until about ten years ago. Ten years ago, when many internal scars healed wounds all reopened and became not only the problems that they were before, but also attached to them or new problems. The wounds have deepened, the scars have lengthened, and my life's plot has thickened. Now the newer, thicker, deeper scars cover my old wounds, reclaiming their old turf
