God bless the child who has her own demons to drown bottles to bury in bottom of liver did you deliver from the gut? Amy? Are you listening, Amy? The same way we heard you on repeat missing the message etched into the alto of your jaws? My father my father had friends like you on the brink. He says they are better memories now, better lessons learned through song. So sing something for us, Amy. Make it good this time before we take you back to Black

A #poem for Amy Winehouse. Originally written the night after she died.

You. This is just so touching to hear. And your wisdom, your resonance with all of these people that were not very well understood at the time that they were alive, much like Martin Luther King or Ruth Franklin and Billy Holiday. It's. Wow. This is a powerhouse piece that's just packed with so much richness and the exploration of multiple themes that just flow together so lyrically. I, you are a songwriter as well, and having had my own issues with alcohol and being a creator and the creative process that spoke to me deeply on that level, I love your work. Thank you
