THE VOICE OF ADDICTION

article image placeholderUploaded by @Block24Media
Are you honestly going to try and beat me? A useless battle? If you want to know, go ahead and make an attempt. Besides, I'm in the mood for a good show. I guess you think you're special. But your sobriety has only lasted a year. I'm still around every corner in the back of your mind. I'm your greatest fear. I'll always be your dirty little secret. I won't disappear

A poem by Carrie Rush written after one year of Sobriety. #Addiction #Sobriety #Poems #RickPorchiaAddictionTalkSeries #RickReadsPoems

Substances/addiction personified.

It. That sure is a beautiful piece for something that is so not beautiful to personify such an overwhelming mentally bodily experience that even if the substance ends, the addiction personified does not. It seems to be lurking around every corner. So that's all I can say is this is a great piece. Thanks
