Creator Burnout

article image placeholderEmily Nagoski and Amelia Nagoski: The cure for burnout (hint: it isn't self-care) | TED
I fix my burnout and I don't get a block. So do this if you have. Create a burnout, look for why the burnout has happened in the first place, and probably that might help. Right. Let me know what your burnout stories are. Maybe I can help. Also, check out that talk I'm linking. Okay. It's really good. Not going to lie. It's really good

So, for me, because of number three, right, which is the path that I have chosen, not being exactly where I wanted to, I have experienced burnout and luckily for me, it happened very early on during my, I think, the very first initial phase of my career. And so I was able to identify that and I was very clear that going forward, I will only pursue something that I'm passionate about, that I enjoy doing

The fact that you had the realization that you did early on, something that happened with me too, an early realization. It saved us so much energy. It saved us so much time. I think this is it. This is lady luck shining upon us, or gentlemen luck shining up, whatever gender luck shining upon us. And I think to a large extent, these kind of things protected us. Yes. Burn out exists happens, but then it doesn't prolong it stay. Right?

When you set out to write a book, you want the people to read it, but at some point it's your own personal journey and experience as well. So for me, creator burnout are not as such a serious deal as say, compared to some people's careers, which is time bound, which is dependent on ten other people, which is dependent on so many other things

And those posts could be anything like Honey did words that was allowed. And it could be anything like a 1 hour video. The choice was with the creators, people are still getting burnt out and you have freelancers that are experiencing burnout, you have employees experiencing burnout, employee creators experiencing burnout, and then you have creative also complained about this being too much. Right

You always need to work backwards from what your audience wants and then tailor what you have to say, share, develop, present if you intend to earn money consistently, professionally off of it. However, if it is a creative pursuit where you want to share a story, your story, your thought, whether ten people view it or 100 people viewing it becomes independent. It does not matter whether anybody sees it at all. It's something that you're doing for yourself

This podcast really helped me, as I also write some fan fictions on, you know, famous characters like Harry Potter and everything. And for quite a few times, I haven't, you know, written anything. So this will surely help me to improve my writing skills and overcome my burnout. Thank you. Bye

Creative blocks or blocks in general, when I mentioned that, yes, there are lots of professions that have blocks, yet somehow it is the writer block that gets romanticized, or the artistic block or the musician block that gets romanticized. That in and of itself is also a problem. So I think the industry as a whole has to not terminate these conversations every time they happen towards the self. Because, yes, the self definitely matters

And he came up with his plays, and he came up with his ballads, and he came up with these wonderful expressions of real stories viewed from the eyes of a fan, right? Keep doing that. This could be the best practicing ground. I always tell people that if you are trying to learn how to write fiction, one of the easiest ways to do it is to try to do rendition or rewriting practice on mythological characters. Because we've grown up on mythological stories, right?
