Self publishing books can lead to a lot of book sales for you if you market your book well. Hello. Swell. 2000 books is a best seller if you are dealing with a genre like Advantageia, for instance, 2000 Books is nothing if you are dealing with fantasy or if you're dealing with young adult romance or a middle grade fantasy romance. So when you advertise your book, know that you are advertising to some specifics and if you are setting a target that does not align with the realities of the genre and the market, you are setting yourself up for disappointment here

Audible will market your book for you for free if your book is selling well on their non Audible platforms, your book is selling well on Amazon and you launch your audiobook on Audible. Audible will market your book for you for free on all of their channels and internally as well. So it's about leveraging a new medium, right? You can have your purist views about it. But it will only hurt you. And why get hurt? You already have a lot of work to do

I think if one actually strategizes properly based on that and taking all of these ways into account, I definitely do think that it is possible to achieve success at self publishing one's books. So, yes, once again, thank you so much for this, because I myself never had such clear an idea about self publishing, because I also, like many, had this notion that if one goes into self publishing, there are higher chances of failure than success. But this definitely gives me hope

It is difficult to sustain yourself from the income that comes. So if you want to be a full time author, self publishing is a very good avenue to get passive income flowing in. Specifically when you go for niche books, when you go for like low value KDPS and things of that sort. So, yes, there you go. And thank you so much for your response. Thank you so much for, I would say taking the initiative to share it with your friends

And then if that doesn't work out the way they hoped, maybe then they can go for self publishing. So, really, thank you so much for your utmost honesty and for sharing the pitfalls as well. This really helps

Who finds thematic challengess?

But as it turns out, in this huge melee of people, you need to stand out somewhere, at least for the initial phase to break out. That breaking out of that threshold is absolutely mission critical. In terms of rocket science, it's like that terminal velocity if you look at it the other way around, or escape velocity if you want to look at while launching the rocket. So I think this escape velocity is the toughest part about publishing

@aayanisms Pro Writing Aid (proofing), Vellum (formatting), Hire Editor: 1. Someone you like 2. Someone who has experience in the genre.

These are people who have domain knowledge and that comes with some attitude. So you win some, you lose some. And then there's the I would say in it for the passion, people who will be willing to converse with you about your book a lot. So there's a frequency that will be set and for that set frequency, the editor and you will meet and discuss the book. Like the editor won't inform you of the edits, they'll discuss it with you

Great suggestions. Thank you so much for sharing. And I will make it a point to go through all of these in detail and see in particular, I think Vellum is something that really caught my attention. I already have grammarly pro, so the spell checks and the grammar are taken care of. I think what you correctly mentioned, and that occurred to me as well, that writing on an a four size page is what, 96,000, 97,000 as on date words

So it's not like you are a 20 something who's excited about life and has followers and you are like yes, I'm the goat. No, that's not the case with you. You genuinely have experience. You genuinely have I've heard the way you articulate things. So I think strictly from the interactions we have had so far, I'm pretty sure that books proposal and maximum three sample chapters would get you a good publishing deal if not with the bigger ones
