Monologues: Mr. Mrs. and Ms.

article image placeholderUploaded by @BeSimplyFit
Let's get our kids to show respect for folks that are older than they are and make them aware that the ground isn't level. Somebody is older and smarter than they are and they should be treated that way. I have a dear friend who I have known for almost 40 years. He has four boys between the ages of 40 and 50. I've known them since they were teenagers and younger. They were calling me Mr. Burns up until five years ago

So thanks for this message, and let's keep this message alive and let's keep sharing it and promoting it and encouraging it. I'm definitely going to start using the Mrs. When it's applicable in a conversation when I'm around younger folk. So, anyway, thanks you, sir. Have a great day, and I appreciate your posting. Bye

I think, too, that younger generations, there's a focus on a different philosophy, maybe around respect, at least it's my observations, and that respect is earned instead of owed. And so I think maybe that's why to some extent, those things aren't used anymore of somehow the Mr. And Mrs. Giving some idea of quote unquote, respect

Hi, Christina, and thanks so much for responding to the swell. And I do agree with you when you say that respect is earned, not owed. And I think oftentimes as parents and maybe even teachers, we can be harsh and disciplined and we can be rude and discourteous to our own children, maybe even to students. But nonetheless, I think what we're looking at here is respect for the position, not necessarily the person

But I could imagine that some of it comes from perhaps, like, I'm just thinking social media, for example, we lean so heavily into presenting, branding oneself and competing with one another, and one upping one another, and how to get ahead can be done not necessarily from putting quality out, but by stepping on other people to get ahead. Right? And yet we call it social media and we talk about, quote unquote connection, and yet it's anything but
