Is empty nest always best or is the Indian way better?

That was a bit of a distance from where I lived, where I come from. So I had to go down there and live there. Also, many Western parents, and this doesn't speak for all of them, but they want us to leave, not because they don't love us. I remember when I left home for the first time, my mother was in tears. That image stays with me in my head for the whole of my life

I left home at 18 and can honestly say it was one of the best things I ever did. But is leaving the nest always best? #india #europe #youth

So a lot of things are changing. And as much as children would love to sort of accommodate their parents in their own homes, et cetera, the trend that I see largely is where children are living close by so that are just a call away and can rush in and take care of them. So that's from my experience, and I'm not very sure which demography you might have perhaps seen around you which might have raised this question in your mind, but yes, change is definitely happening

But that doesn't mean for me that I want to ignore my parents or my hubby's parents it's just that I don't want the pressure to be on women to adapt to a certain lifestyle just because she is born a woman. And the Indian system believes in joint family. It also has the negative impact that in many cases the boys doesn't grow up

And I think that the journey and the cycle of kind of self discovery and discovering the path of oneself is so important. I would not be an advocate for pushing it off well into your 20s

Hi. You know, in India with young adults there's decline in the incidence of families sitting together and eating like a joint family earlier nowadays everyone is so busy with their own work and generally the joint family system broke up because the joint businesses have stopped. Then there are children who are moving out of the country to study abroad. But the new challenges teenagers and young bachelors are planning to move out when they're young. And there is a rise of emptiness in India as well
