It is what it is…Indicates DEFEAT!

article image placeholderUploaded by @BEAUTIFULSOULMI
It is what it is. I came to speak, and in my opinion, this statement is indicative of defeat. To be conscious of an undesirable act or circumstance, then deciding to accept it for what it is, to work around it, or place a bandaid on a heart attack. I'm not a fan of this term. It is what it is. Social consciousness. This is a term that I decided to look up based on this very popular statement today

However, for others it could represent acknowledging the reality of a certain problem and becoming motivated to take action and bring about a positive change. So it ultimately depends on how the phrase is interpreted and applied within the concept of social awareness. Now, I like this term you have used to be more socially conscious. That is an amazing term that we all need to understand. We have to be deeply aware of the people around us in the society, how we can impact them and how they impact us

And it's not a contradictory statement to say, I love a good steak or I love a good burger and I love cows. I don't understand how that can be a contradictory statement. And maybe I'm just naive. I don't know. But I just don't understand how that can be a contradictory statement

And I'm taking vacation this week from work. I can't take a whole nother week at the end of August, especially since there's two of us in our office and someone else already put in for vacation time. So honestly, just after thinking about how can I make this work? Can I go on this wonderful trip and realizing I can't go, it is what it is. Moment, I can't go. So that's how I've been using it

There's a choice that you could make. There's a decision, there's an action that you could take you're choosing not to, and proclaiming it is what it is so that it seems as though there's nothing that can be done about it. And in most cases, that isn't the case. I don't let people say that around me because if it's important enough for you to say it is what it is, you obviously feel that it could be different

So when I looked that term up, it says when you hold two conflicting thoughts at the same time and under the definition, it says, like loving hamburgers and cows at the same time. Well, I added in, it is what it is. I'm going to go ahead and eat this cheeseburger. So it wasn't anything contradictory that I was stating. It was just the definition of cognitive dissonance and the example they put underneath the definition

You. Hi, Auntie Ange. Well, I guess your pastor and I agree. We also agree that it's mostly or majority a young generational term. I have a 26 year old and I hear that it is what it is. I hear it more from younger people

The target of this swell profile, beautiful soul mind is to practice and learn how to master emotional intelligence, self awareness, self regulation, motivate oneself, be empathetic towards my feelings, validate my own feelings, and to increase upon the social skill that I already have. I certainly appreciate your reply. I thank you. I thank you. I thank you. And your candor certainly was a breath of fresh air

It. I understand what you're saying because a lot of times when we do say it is what it is, it's kind of like us saying like, you know what, I'm waving the white flag or whatever. Like, I'm done with it. Not even going to deal with it anymore. So yes, in that sense, it could be that it you could be accepting the feat. Like I said, it could be the case

I guess she would agree with the term surrender because she said, you pick and choose your battles wisely, and it's just not wise to try to speak with someone that may be a 14 year old and you're 40. They're not going to have the experience and the knowledge of life. Those things already happened to her. So she has to wait till that young man or young woman goes through those life changes to be able to understand and absorb what she was trying to relay

You. Hello again. Beautiful soul. It is what it is. So, yeah, I do agree that it is a defeatist mindset to an extent. As we know, there are plenty of things out of our own personal control. So those are what they are. Right. I think I understand where you're going with the cow and the burger. I think it can you're thinking deeper than what you're describing, and I'm not trying to tell you what you're thinking

And when you said, that man is at peace and he has the term it is what it is nailed down. And he was not indicating defeat, he was not feeling defeated. He was making a statement. It was a very powerful picture. They sent it to me right after they took that picture in a grocery store and posted it on Facebook. And everyone was making comments underneath the pictures. Some were comical, some were very serious and I would have to agree with
