Rangeela - Cinema and Life

For instance, Padosi was about an outsider reed Britisher attempting to divide two good neighbors Thakur and Mirza. Now this was unique to India because the American war of independence happened much before cinema took birth in the US. And Britain was not fighting any war of independence in an independent India too, it was interesting to observe how the socioeconomic contours influenced key features like romance, villainy and music. The late 1940s and the 1950s were a period of pain with people getting uprooted from their homes

And, well, while I'm not familiar with all the movies that you mentioned, especially the ones from sixty s, seventy s, or even the ones from eighty s and ninety s, but you contextualizing them and basically you providing the sociopolitical context of those movies definitely makes it more intriguing

Artistry vs entertainment - #bollywood #indiancinema

My goal was slightly different in the sense I took it decade by decade for largely Hindi cinema and to introduce Indian cinema or Hindi cinema to an international audience or those sort of people who have limited view of Indian cinema or Indian cinema rather demystifying the whole gamut. And I cut across I mean, the way I structured it was across the geographical impact, the historical impact, the mathematical or the economics of it and the demographics of it
