I asked Bard about Asimov’s Three Laws of Robotics

For the purposes of brevity. I'll explain that I had asked Google Bard to look up and read back to me Isaac Asimov's three Laws of Robotics. And even though it had been able, with some coaching, to successfully query the Internet for some other song lyrics and things, I had asked for it before it wasn't able to come up with these on its own

#googlebard #Bard isn’t that bad, imo. Worth checking out #generativeai #chatgpt #alpaca2 #independentpodcast #bakedandawake #smokeindicadoshitanyway

Bard re writes the Three Laws of Language Models

To me, it demonstrated a fairly clear understanding of the intent behind the words in the Three Laws of Robotics. I welcome your thoughts on this. I welcome your comments on the degree to which a system like these large language models beyond where they currently are, where they would need to be in understanding in order to begin to be considered at least partially aware, self aware. Even the nuance that it demonstrated in its expressions here was intriguing to me

And as cool as it is that you took the time to converse in this way, it is also a little astonishing to know that you're not the only one who's really diving down and it's learning so much from us. It's just wild, man. It's wild. So I appreciate you taking this very tactile approach and getting kind of clear and concise on some of these principles. I think that's very useful
