Is mainstream social media dying?

article image placeholderSo where are we all supposed to go now?
That first is that users are moving on. And second is that the business models are not really working anymore. Essentially, these are platforms that bring people together, right? We have accounts on them and we exchange pleasantries birthday greetings, jokes, information. It's a way for people to come together. And these platforms, right, these are platforms. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube. Smaller platforms like Twitch, Pinterest, Clubhouse, Reddit, Snapchat

What's really driving this shift? What is the consumer behavior behind this shift? What are the younger people doing? Why aren't they interested in Facebook or Twitter or Instagram? Are they using Snapchat? Are they using WhatsApp? I mean, how much time can you spend on WhatsApp right? So I'm very curious to understand let me have your two cent. All right, bye

In my view, it’s because of the way users are treated on the platforms.

You. I think the reason that people are leaving certain platforms like Facebook as an example, is because they, while they were at one point great for getting people together, and to some degree they still are to a certain extent. But what they have done is they have used their customer base, or their users, I should say, as tools, and they have used them for data purposes

This is not going to make me grow and be better. It's just entertainment. And that's what social media is. It's entertainment. That's it. You're not going to live the next 20 years off of social media. You're probably going to live it and regret half of the stuff that you did. But the mainstream of social media is just not as new. It's not as fun, it's not as profitable

I felt like the ability to see differing perspectives is changing on certain apps as they're biased depending on who owns the app. I never liked Twitter. I thought it was limited in its ability to communicate a message. I feel like a lot of acts, a lot of the apps lack the ability for a conversation to be had, a differing of perspectives and to elaborate with one another. I feel like Instagram is mainly when people are trying to communicate a message

Hey, I love this topic. I believe that a lot of people are steering away from social media applications because of what they do to people's mental health. People are treated cruelly on these platforms. They are maligned. They are bullied. They are attacked for having different views. They are attacked for espousing certain views. They are constantly being barraged with misinformation. They are constantly being barraged with narratives that have been twisted to promote certain agendas
