"How to heal yourself from within?" - with Lamiya Siraj

article image placeholderUploaded by @authordaman
You know, sometimes all the hopes get lost and the one left is within us. So hello everybody. A very good afternoon to you. I'm Damanpreet here welcoming you to another swell where we will be dwelling into how hopes and healings are in turn. Life always has something to teach us with every step we take. Well, in schools and universities we first learn and then take tests. But in the school of life, tests are taken first and learnings are taken from within

So here is my inspiration along with my motivation be a reader to be a writer one day now well, I used to write a lot during my school days. I was more into story writing and poems. Later I developed my interest in content writing. So yes, slowly but steadily I am becoming an all rounder. With the help of my habit of learning and enhancing my knowledge, I wrote my first book in 2019

And the most interesting part is we have to take those learnings on our own. Would you please elaborate? How does your book delve into the theme of inner healing? What led you to choose the title destined to Heal from within for your novel?

Like you are the first person who can help yourself and few people are destined to heal so you have to make your destiny. You cannot always depend that it is written in the destiny it is going to happen. Like I don't believe that only the bad things are returned in your destiny. No the bad things happens but we have to fight. We have to fight as a fighter and as warrior and come out with the victory

A very good afternoon to you. Lamiya ma'am. I am Kadam Ray Gupta. And first of all, many congratulations to you for your book this Time to Heal. The title in itself looks very promising and interesting. Ma'am, my question to you is that if we are in a toxic relationship and although we have come out of it but still we haven't healed, you know, we are still in the process of healing

Every time we don't need a conversation. Yes, that is indeed very important. But many a times when we have someone who could listen to us and all the burden, all the dirt, all the negative emotions that we have in our heart are just poured out, are taken out, are shared, we feel lighter. This is my personal experience. So allow yourself, give some time to yourself. Don't rush. Because healing is a process. Healing takes times

Indeed believe that motivation is internal and so is healing. No one else can heal you because most people can just laugh at your situations rather than listening it and helping you as you said that you are a regular newspaper reader. Sometimes the news at headlines may cause you to be sad or depressed. And so for sure, as everybody's life have certain discontentments, so have yours to. Have you ever experienced sense of being lost and hopeless in life?

Then I see what is left with me now when I recently lost my mother, I look forward and I look up to my brother, to my daughter, to my husband, to my mother in law, to my family who are still left. The person who has gone, the life is already gone, but there are still few lives alive. Like I cannot go with the person who has gone from my life. But then I have to stay back for those who are there

Yes, sometimes materialistic and sometimes the non materialistic things like love deteriorates us. The only one left with you is your own self. To give you a piece of hope. Your positivity and optimism is worth appreciating. Lamiya alright, so coming back to the book, how does this novel navigate ups and downs of life? Like, what if a person is predominantly experiencing only lows rather than highs? What advice would you give to such a person who wants to get back to a normal and balanced life?

Like if you're feeling low, you don't feel like doing your normal activities, then whatever it might be like whatever give you pleasure, like watching movies, listening to music, reading books, sports, going to your fitness gym, et cetera. At a point when you feel low, you don't feel like doing anything. You just feel like taking your blanket and slipping in your quilt and just hit your bed and go to sleep. I have seen this many people doing this

And do you have a personal quote or mantra that keeps you grounded and motivated amidst the challenges of life? And is there something that prevents you from giving up and looking back and just encouraging you to keep striving in life?

I go to beach, I go to a lake, I go to the river and just sit there, sit there for some time, if I have time, if time permits, I sit there for hours. I just listen to the soothing sound of the water, the birds chirping around the trees, the greedery and the fresh air, the cold breeze that is flowing which touches my heart, which touch my soul, which touch my face. And I could feel something different what to say?

Good afternoon ma'am, heartiest congratulations for the book and I have heard your journey towards the healing of your own self and your writing journey too. My question is regarding the healing process. S I had been through some kind of a heartbreak in past. It led to depression, anxiety, suicidal things and all. And it took me some time, I think, years to come out of it. And now I don't feel any sort of anxiety or any depression or any kind of expectitious feeling

So what I feel right now is you are going through a healing process. So you have healed. I don't know, I cannot scale it 60, 70 or 80%, but yes, you are healing. The healing process is going on. It is just a numbness. If you say that you feel for something but the tears don't come to your eyes, that's fine. That's perfectly fine. Give some time to yourself

Like what set of affirmations or thoughts do you believe individuals should hold on to during times of crisis, times of difficulties, when there are no hopes left in their lives? And once again, I am very grateful to you for sparing your worthy time to have a word with us. May you achieve great success in your life. God bless you, have a great life, Lamia

Hello. Thank you so much. I would like to end this session with yes sharing few perspectives and few self affirmations and thoughts that I always keep with myself and I believe in. The first thought that I believe in is believe in yourself. No matter what. No matter what, never give up. Believe in yourself. The second mantra that that I keep myself with is time waits for no one and time is the best medicine. Do understand the depth of this?
