#HerStory | Is Feminism an Upper Class Virtue, Still?

I think that's a very good, very good point to be raised here. The parents do not plan for a career for their girl, a career where she can be happy, she can be independent, and she can be financially well off. She can be a significant part of the society. Even now, parents raise their children, I mean, the girl children, to get married, yes

If you look at Tata IPL this year, the way the status and the caliber of the matches have changed, there are so many close finishes. People are scored. Teams are scoring 100 and 9200. In Tata women's IPL until last year it was only 100 and 6141. Hundred and 70 was the average score. Today they are easily touching 181 9200. How is that happening? Because there is so much of competition coming. So many players are coming out and these are all from small time towns

I think the markers are wildly different. It cannot be just one sport may like there were these many players from small towns, though it is a marker by and large. We'll have to look at the problematic belts, if you know what I mean. So if you should look at states which have historically had women marrying very early and bearing at least three children. So that is still wildly predominant is what I'm trying to say

So I would say that if at all, we are talking about a level playing field for women, it has to come from. Right, from the grassroots. There is so much of conditioning that women are not even able to pursue opportunities that come their way because of the fear of being judged, the fear of being said that you are actually putting your family on the back burner to pursue opportunities outside, number one

If she cannot do that, then what is the point of getting her married if it is going to be a temporary situation, and in many cases it will be a temporary situation and then what does one do? So being financially independent, I think should be the first thing each and every person has to work for. And unless people understand than this, I don't think we can really progress in any way. So thank you so much for sharing this enlightening post. Take care. Bye

Just an opinion, not meant to infringe upon anyone’s values and beliefs, please take it with a grain of salt.

And if we want to address this as a problem, apart from educating people, of course we need to do something about the nurture part, not the nature part. You can't help it. You can't help if you've got female organs. You can't help if you've got male organs, but you can help it if you direct your mind and your mindset and your thinking process. Of course, education plays a big part

And I think that's the most cruel thing to happen. When you feel trapped, there is little for you out there besides being someone's wife or someone's mother or someone's sister, for that matter. So, yes, I hope what I shared makes sense. Thank you so much for responding to my svelcast. Bye

So that still remains to be discovered and I believe of course government will have a huge part to play and by and large it comes down to women and her access to resources. If she has access to a good amount of resources and I mean assets, land and money then she has power. And when she has power more or less like equality is also in place or it can be achieved is what I mean

There is more scope for dialogue on topics involving feminism, topics that are based out of feminism, that grow out of it in terms of equality and rights and opportunities and pay grades. And even in families, the differences in treatment and things like that are more openly discussed because of the awareness and the sense of equality that prevails. Well, that is an undeniable fact. However, in the lower strata of the society. Is it just that, that there is no feminism, there is no equality?
