But moral values that inform all religions, ideas, ideals and values drawn from the different religions can and perhaps should play a major role in politics. People should be able to express in politics their needs, interests and demands as a member of religious community. Those who hold political power should sometimes be able to regulate the practices of religion so as to prevent discrimination and oppression. All these instances involve the relationship between religion and politics. Ethical values of each religion should play a major role in politics

Hi Anushka, So the points which I really liked in your Schwarber that politics does drive is driven by religion. Yes it is the case in our country also. Parties want want to communicate to one community more or tend to communicate to one community more and then religious parties are formed as well to give the religion a stand in the nation. It is such a diverse nation but in my opinion religion should not influence politics this way because then we are dividing it further rather than unifying
