On this LOVE day let’s talk about physical flaws. Do you hide them, play them up, or work to change them?

article image placeholderUploaded by @DearAuntyAng
Angle of our flaws, our physical flaws. And I guess them question I have is, how do you handle physical flaws? And them could be things that you see as flaws. They could even be things that other people see as flaws. Do you hide them? Do you play them up? Do you work to change them? And this is coming from. So I took a selfie, as you see here. I took a selfie the other day, too

Hello, Angela. Happy Valentine's day to you. If I haven't said that, because I think we've interacted today, but if I haven't said, happy Valentine's Day. Happy Valentine's Day. Flaws. So for me, my flaws are like my past. They're what make me who I am. They're a part of me. And it is what it is. I know that my skin is not the best. My face is not the best

I took this last summer😀

And unfortunately, there are people who would see those beautiful features as funny or ugly or whatever. Yeah. Even now when I take pictures, I don't like the way my eyes bug out. It looks pretty buggy. And I look like I have, like a third neck. Sometimes it's like the way I look in the mirror when I see myself in the mirror. It's one way, but when people snap photos of me it doesn't translate very well

Hey, Andrea. Happy Valentine's day to you. Thank you for chiming in. And thank you for sharing. I think that's a great picture of you. Sorry, I had to pause because I was yawning. Long day here. I think that's a great picture of you. I like how you summed it up and say, you flaunt your fall. Sorry, tongue twister. You flaunt your fall. I still didn't say it right. You flaunt your flaws

So be very careful when you respond to this response, be very careful when you respond because your girl still can get a little sensitive. But I'm just saying, like, I don't think I'm cute without my glasses on. I don't know. I think I'm gorgeous with my glasses on. But with my glasses on, I ain't bad on the eyes, you know what I mean? But my one eye, when I get sleepy, that mug will close, right?

And now they're like, well, I want my woman natural. It's just crazy. But this is definitely why it's important to have self love. Because people will cheer for you one day. You're the it girl. You've got the look. And then if that look goes out of style, now them turn on you. So that's why that self love is important. And not just to be the it girl, but loving all parts of ourselves

Because if only a mother can love me and you don't even love me, then I'm just done for. And so not feeling pretty has been colored my childhood. When you don't fit this mode of kids, it's crazy. But I think you're beautiful. I've never seen you without your glasses, of course, but I think you're absolutely beautiful. You have gorgeous hair and your face and your personality. It's all beautiful. So you're definitely beautiful

But what am I going to do? But I don't know. I got to love myself. So it's just a physical flaw, and I guess, what am I going to do? But the pictures are nice. I mean, Erica and Andrea, nice pictures. Have a good night. Bye

Hey, happy Valentine's Day. I meant to apply this earlier. I couldn't get to what I had on my day off. I was working. So. Anyways, I think you're a beautiful person because you have a great personality and I love people's minds. I don't care what a person looks like. I don't see flaws like that. You actually, when I saw you before, you actually reminded me of my cousin. You look a lot like her

Hi, Andrea. Good morning. I just woke up, so apologies if my voice is low, but I do remember the era when it started about having the big butts. And, you know, when you read literature from the past, it wasn't about the butt. You know, when a man wrote a song or it, or even in the Bible, song of Solomon, curves are certainly mentioned, but mostly like the neck or a woman's face, smile, or her feet

But I think that's probably what you said with you as well. If you kind of grow into it physically and then emotionally, it's like, it is what it is. I did look into cosmetic surgery. It's not cheap, I mean, not super expensive. It would have been about 15,000 for a nose job. I don't have 15,000 lying around. So what do I do? Payment plan? Things like that

So they're still going to tease you. If you don't have the right jordans on. They're going to laugh at your hair. They're going to laugh if you're big, you're skinny, they're going to laugh at your nose, your eyes. They're going to find something. That uniform is the least of their worries. But I did grow up poor, so I didn't have the latest clothes

You. Hey, good morning, everybody. You know, Erica, you're referring to how people write and romanticize about women's bodies and all that stuff. You know, when I was younger, in my teens and twenties, yeah. I mean, being a young boy, you kind of. Your girl crazy, you kind of look at women's butt and all that stuff

Y'all do know that's them dookie hole, excuse my french, on this good Thursday morning. But, yeah, he was really breaking it down, like, yeah, what is so attractive about the booty? I get it, but I don't get it because it is like the excretment hole right at the end of the day. But them fascination with it, and if you don't got it, you're not sexy is like, where does it come from?

They're like, well, let me just find somebody ugly so they can be dedicated. I think that's dead wrong, but I'm not that route. I got to be attracted to the person. But at least there's so much more than that. So I definitely agree with you there

Ha. Oh, wow. You said Usher has herpes. Oh, Jesus. Oh, well, it's an entertainment industry. But you know what, though? Every time, a lot of times when I see Usher, man, I think of Maya. I'm not sure if you remember Maya from the early two thousand s. And I remember she and Usher did a video. And I'm not gonna lie, man. Maya was a beautiful girl. And she had a big nose too

It, Javon, Maya still has it going on. I'm just trying to find a picture real quick, but I couldn't find it. But I don't think she's still in the music business like that. But she's, like, vegan now. So even though she's like, I think, 45, something like that, her body is tight, her skin, her face. Of course, she's always had, like you said, that really meek and humble personality

You a moe on the face of a person made fun of as a kid. As an adult, that same mole can be looked at as a beauty mark, especially in the modeling industry. In fact, some people have surgery to have a mold on their face. Freckles. When kids see someone with freckles, they make fun of them. But as an adult, women and men are seen differently. A gap tooth, same thing. As a kid, they're made fun of

If you can't or don't want to, do you play it up? Do you just embrace it? How do you do? But at the end of the day, we got to get into loving ourselves, because nobody's perfect. And if I let things like my nose bring me down, I'll never smile, I'll never take pictures. And I'm not living a life like that. Thank you so much

And I really want to get into, like, a run routine. So that's one of my goals. I just need to do it. But I really do love the field that exercise brings. And even though I'm a chunky girl over here, I can move with the best of them. That's what I always tell them. Like, you might be on a hike, getting tired, breathing all hard, but I'll meet you at the top

Hey, Angela. Wow. First of all, this picture of you is beautiful. I mean, I really only notice, notice, notice your nose when you said it. First thing I noticed, one of my granddaughters favors you so greatly and know she has some siblings out there, and they all look just alike. Them nose is her family trait on her daddy's side

I mean, obviously, he was a bigamous, but they didn't check the records in the, hey, he had a whole wife and kids. And so sometimes people will ask me, are you related to so and so? And I just say, I could be. I just say, I could be. Between my dad, my uncles, on both sides of my family, I could be. Um

Hi, Javon. I just listened to you talk about Maya. I was coming back on here to add something else, and I came across your swell. I hit the play button. I said, oh, let me just listen. And you know what's interesting is that Maya literally still looks the same. She literally still looks the same. And recently, I would say it might have been last year. I don't know. Hi, Anne. I meant to respond to the first part of your response back to me. Thank you so much for your compliment. Thank you so, so much for your compliment about my picture. And that's a kind of sort of recent picture from last July when I had them folocs in my hair. I will be 42 this year. So that picture was taken. I was 41. I'm still 41. But, yeah. Hey, Erica, thank you for the picture. Thank you for them. Maya, follow up. Yes, I'm looking at the picture. Yeah, she's still beautiful. She's still sweet, you know? Yeah. You know what I always liked about her was like, she was sexy and sweet, but at them, same time, she came across as a little demure, a little subtle. You know what I mean? She's just kind of coy with it

But we didn't really see that of her. But a lot of guys had a crush on her. I can't tell you how many cousins and guy friends I had back in the day who had the poster of Aaliyah up. And she affected so many males, affected their hearts so much that even to this day. Oh, my gosh, what's that show growing up? Hip hop. We were watching some of them old reruns of Dame Dash, and he was still crying about Alia

Bombastic and in your face and look how beautiful I am and look at what my body can do. And it's not all about that. She was just kind of easy going and kind of demur about it. Yeah. And what happened to Aliyah was tragic. I often kind of wonder how would her career could have continued to blossom if she had lived

Oh, gosh. And I am back again. Yeah. I really think he needs to stay away from the Beyonce videos. If you can't even go to the beach, just don't even watch them. Like, you know, the most modestly dressed person I've seen this week was Andrea Day, when she performed lift every voice. It caused us to focus more on her voice and just her interesting face
