#AskSwell -What Bible do you use to study? What’s your favorite Version?

I was looking for a Bible on Amazon and I came across that when I was looking at it and I was like, oh, this is for recovery, let me not get it. And God told me to get it. And then when it got here, as I was going through it, god was showing me like, you may not be addicted to drugs or to alcohol, but at some point you did have addiction, right? Like I like to drink

What type of Bible do you use and what type of Bible do you use to study?

Now, this one is the new King James version. And sometimes there's a conflict between the new King James version and the King James version. Like, certain words are changed, and sometimes it can actually almost change the meaning. But this is what I know about the Bible. God's word is true. He is never going to let somebody manipulate His Word. If you ask the Holy Spirit to tell you, he going to give you a clear understanding about His Word, whatever Bible you use

But I'm glad that there are different Bibles out there for different situations and different purposes. My husband and I, we stick to the NIV mostly because it actually maintains and contains what the original meaning, hebrewic meaning was back in the day, and the Greek meanings. So we stick to the NIV, although the NIV, they kind of how should I put it? They're trying to always update the language in the Bible

But I do break it up and I guess they call it like not a Concordance, but kind of get you where I guess it kind of gets you where you need to go faster. So in the Old Testament would be Genesis to Deuteronomy would be Law, and then Joshua to Esther would be history, and then Job, the songs would be poetry, and Isaiah to Malachi. I think it's Malachi. It's not Micah. It's Malachi. That would be the prophets

Like somebody said about the archaeology, yeah, I can't talk right now, but somebody said about that Bible, right? So that Bible would be very interesting for people that are studying and wanting to know different artifacts or different places where Jesus traveled or how the different people traveled and things like that. That would be good for that. Like the recovery Bible, everybody is recovering from something. Everybody has something that God has brought them through, right?
