#AskSwell Man "bags" are actually purses. Should men wear purses??????
And what in God's name does a man have that he carries around that he need a purse for? What is in it? What's in the purse? Like, when he got cologne and his wallet, maybe a couple of mints, his phone. But what else possibly could be in the bag that he need a whole purse. He need to carry a whole purse around. I get it. I'm old. Times are changing. But I'll be honest with you

But they have the convenience of wearing it around because as women, we have the convenience of wearing purses to keep all of our items in. And of course, men have their items as well. So I got him this really nice one that everybody actually liked, men and women, when we were working at the same company well before COVID And it was really nice

I used to make fun of my friends, like, guy friends that I had that used to do that and be like, what are you doing? We don't do that over here. What are you doing? The guys from where I'm from, we don't do that. Yeah, it was very strange to me, but from what I understand, it's definitely a thing, especially in Europe. It came from the European culture where men wear their man bags and their man purses

It doesn't make me feel some kind of way to see a man with one because they don't carry them in a feminine way. They're not carrying them like we do. Our purses and handbags. I mean, they're strapped over their shoulders, and they drop them in their seats or whatever in their cars, and then they strap them over their shoulder and keep them moving when they need it. So I personally don't have an issue with it

I'm not a man and I don't have a husband. So it really don't matter how I feel about it. I was asking the question. But I wouldn't want my husband to carry one. And if he did, we would have to have a real conversation about why he felt the need to carry one, because I don't see it. But I mean, to each his own. To each his own. Now, if he needed a messenger bag or something like or a backpack, coach Michael Kors and different designers like that, they have really nice bags for men that men can carry. Not man persons, but bags like backpacks or messenger bags. And I wouldn't have a problem with him doing that or a briefcase or something like that. But if he needed something else to carry, I could put it in my purse. And you know what?

I was really just asking because, like Mo said in his response, neophyte Savant, he said in his response, he said that he doesn't like the skinny jeans that men wear now. And I know some men wear fingernail polish, and I'm not just talking about the clear when they go get a manicure, but some men actually wear colored fingernail polish. And I said this before in another response, I'm not a fashion forward person

And it is funny, though, even if you go traveling or something or you go, say, like, to I don't know, you're going out somewhere, maybe it's an amusement park or maybe it's a museum or something, and it's a man and woman going. A man will bring some type of something to carry, and so will a woman, but she'll bring a bigger purse

The guys who I have seen wear it at my old job, these are fully masculine, married to women type of men. And they use these bags. As I see them take out business folders, I see them take out certain things that they need for the day and it looks very masculine to me

If you do have books, I carry my books with me all the time. I practice my calligraphy. I do my journaling for the book that I'm writing. And I got one of those drawstring backpacks

I'm not a fashion forward person anyway, so but I think, and I've said this in other responses, too, like for me, I wouldn't personally be with a man who carried one who had a backpack like that on or a purse on. I mean, if he had a backpack, that's fine, but a purse, I would request him not to wear that when he's with me. He can do whatever he wants to do when he's not with me
It. Yeah. The 511 is the tactical backpack that's made for going to the range or, you know, if you you needed a secure place to, you know, I guess, have your weapons. But it's a pain in the butt. I just found a key five today for the gym. It's like, so many pockets. I'm still I'm finding stuff all over the place. Medicine, chapstick, key, Fobs, one key. It's crazy pens
