An inability to look at people or start a conversation, trouble recognizing social cues and nonverbal forms of communication. Talking excessively about a select subject even if others are not responsive. A reduced ability to express emotions. Some behaviors that females with autism exhibit would be repetitive movements, the development of personalized rituals or routines, fixating on certain activities or objects, having food aversions or food preferences, especially in relation to textures, and experiencing light and sound more powerfully than others

And maybe that's why. Because maybe they saw that I was a little different, right? Not that there was anything wrong with me, but I was just a little different. And maybe they could see that they did take me to a psychiatrist or whatever, but that was related to the adoption because that's what they were required to. Well, I ain't going to say it was required to do, but that's what they were told that they should do

So I don't know very much. I'd like to know more. This was very interesting and I'm very happy that you shared it. And it is interesting to do self reflection to see what's up, to see what's going on in your own life, what you're made of, how you function, what ticks you off, what doesn't, what makes you happy, et cetera. So yeah, I love it. Thank you so much for Shera

And so I was like, yeah, I might want to get his ears checked, because if there's an issue with his ears, that's going to affect the way that he speaks, because children, babies, they hear words and then they speak them. And so that could affect it. And so then there were some other little things, but he was really smart. Like, if he wanted something to eat, he would go in the kitchen, and if he could reach

So I knew in order for me to do my job, I was going to have to learn how to connect with them, because autistic children, they connect usually by touch. They're more of touchy feely people than the words because some of them, they can't speak. So I had these little boys, and both of them were nonverbal. They were about, I think they were six and eight. And I had taken these little boys to see their parents for a parental visit

Like I said, I've been working with autistic children for a long time, and those are the type of children I really enjoy working with. Thanks for inviting me to the post. Bye

Well, thank you, Keith. I'm definitely going to be reaching out because like I said, we've been trying to find out more stuff about it. And my daughter, so my oldest daughter, she works with the youth, and so she's, you know, she kind of helps the family. My son has not really accepted the fact that his son is autistic

And I definitely reach out to you light hearted about my grandson because I do want to know all I can know about autism so that I can better help my grandson to better be able to take care of himself and to be the best person that he can be, to be the best version of himself that he can be. And me personally, and we try to get my son to understand this, too. A lot of autistic people are very

And when I saw it, my heart hurt because I'm like, did anybody know if it really was too loud for that baby or Larie? We just, so the first thing we do is hit. The first thing we do is incite violence against our own kids. Do we ask how that kid hears? What are his sensitivities to things? And I think about the kids that's been made to sit still in church. And don't you say nothing

And I was very offended by that, as I should have been, because I was like, I'm telling you as a woman at this point, I was in my 40s. I'm like, I'm telling you how I learn. And I've done quite a few things. I've checked a lot of things off these boxes, degrees, the whole nine. I think I should know how Angela learns if nobody else knows. I know

@DearAuntyAng

Hey, Angela. Yeah, it's been different. My grandson definitely has opened my eyes to a lot of things. And my youngest daughter, she used to tell me this was, like, some years ago, she would say that she was overstimulated. I'm like, girl, go somewhere and sit down, please. Like, oh, my goodness. But now, with my grandson being autistic, I really have to pay attention to that stuff because he can get overstimulated very quickly
