Friendship- Would you lose respect for a friend that has committed adultery in their relationship

So recently we were having a conversation about one of my friends who has been caught in an adultery in his relationship, in his two and a half year old marriage where he was not faithful any point of time throughout the relationship. And dilemma is that since he has committed this and I've gotten to know more and more details about his relationship, I'm confused

Second thing that I feel that what dynamics I have with my best friend is different but what dynamics she has with her partner is her personal thing and she can be a bad partner irrespective of her being my best friend. But at the same time my friendship is something that is just not solely based on how she is behaving with her partner. She may have infidelity issues that's her personal thing and she might want to seek therapy or might want to talk to other people

Just his very existence has been a completion to me. And I've shared a lot of life with him, really, to be honest. But the question really arises that when you talk about unconditional love, something we do not see a lot today in society, forget friendship, because friendship generally is more about give and take. What are you offering and what are you gaining from it? Thankfully, I don't have that relationship with him
