Home Alone

article image placeholderUploaded by @aayanman
Open windows and closed domes. A quiet neighborhood and loud phones. Transparent windows and opaque mines. Bright paints and closed blinds. Resort condos and motel mines. Manicured lawns and peaking blinds. High rises and short fuses. Big penthouses and small disguises. Socially, vocal and mutually quiet. Modular kitchens and mental riot. Flowing curtains and stifled paints. Soft lights and hard faints bright chandeliers and dark synths. Open gardens and sarcastic grins. White floors and dark rooms. Soft beds and dormant fumes

That was beautiful. I quite enjoyed it and I wish there was some way I could share it with people who are not on Swell because I know a lot of my friends and family will really appreciate it. I haven't read a poem in a long time that I enjoyed so much. Much. Otherwise I come by a lot of people's poetry that's quite fluffy and very bubblegummy, not really meaning much other than just using very trophy words and phrases and trying to be like Keith's

That we realized that that wasn't the way they saw it at all. So for me, of course, it's home and I hope it is perceived the same way by my loved ones as well

Hi there. You can share the poem with your loved ones, with your friends, your circle. All you have to do is use the Share link and copy the link and share it with them on through via any medium you wish. WhatsApp? Or, you know, any other social media platforms. So they will be actually looking at this link on the Swellcast.com website where they can hear it, right? So they don't have to necessarily download the app

And home became a house, at least for a few years, till circumstances changed again for the better and they got a home again. So love the poem and keep them coming. I wish I could write poems. I write poems like Cat Sat on a Hat in the Lab of a Man Named Matt to the same extent of my poetry. And I wish I could come up with something so profound, but I can't. So jealous. Thank you for sharing this

But in the neighborhood, having the sense of communal harmony and things like that, we've forgotten these values, I feel. And you lose that sense of feeling homeliness and you're not connected to your neighborhood. Like when you used to live in a place, you were attached to that place, not just the property, but because of the memories and having a neighborhood

Hey. This is Ian. Thanks so much for taking time to listen to the swell. A quick feedback. I don't think I can hear any of your audio. I think it could be something wrong with the microphone or the way probably placed the microphone profound. It's a very faint voice at this end. And even if I turn up the volume completely, I'm unable to hear what you're saying

It's like it comes to you in a flash when you're right in the moment, and sometimes you just jot down some lines and scribble something here and there and ideas to to not overengineer it too much. As long as it's probably covering the sentiment accurately, then that's what I keep it like that, and I have a few more. Maybe I'll share it in subsequent files

Absolutely sure. Let me know how that goes. Conversations with the next generation is incredibly difficult. You know, the definition of home at age 15 is going to be very different at age 25, then completely different at age 35 or 45. My thing is, it changes right over a period of time, and what we feel right now may not hold true a few years later

Sometimes the beauty about art is that you can just leave it as it is. It need not be defined under any bracket and I am by far not a poet or any stretch of imagination. I do not claim to know the art of poetry and I'm clearly not qualified for it either. It's more of an expression of observations in and around us, of society, if you will. And so one tries to probably frame it in a few lines as far as possible

It's just that I haven't been inspired to write for a long, long time. And it's been years, frankly, I think six years maybe, or more than that, that I've actually written. And the funny thing is, I'm aspiring to be a screenwriter and all I've done is jot down outlines and ideas and bullet points here and there and scraps of paper full of storylines and narratives and character arcs, but nothing that can be condensed into a story

Quite nice and very exotic. Slow, rhythmic and very introspective. Really enjoyed it. And all good news to you. Great work. Keep it up

If you remember when the balls used to kind of hit the words as you sing along so you can follow the ball. It brought me back to that when I was listening to it, and it was really great. It was visual. I just have to say that I enjoyed listening to it. I don't know how many ways I can say it, because it was just a really nice poem. It's not something that I would listen to one time. I hope to hear more from you

The singing poet what a wonderful user name. Thank you, Ms. Conner, for taking the time to listen to the poem and a few lines for non poets, non poets like us, putting together a few lines is a function of multiple things aligning, being getting in the zone, getting in the mood, then also having some inspiration, some of observation, finding some alone time. And all those things are a rarity given the crazy workplace that some of us have

Hi. It was a very well put together audio clip. It is a true definition of what an actual home looks like and feels like. Thank you
