Qala : the slow burn movie review

article image placeholderUploaded by @aayanman
You've got to watch it for its acting abilities, editing, screenplay, sound design, costume design, background, score, music, and of course, the overall narrative. Does it mean it's a perfect movie? No. There are areas of improvement and we'll come to that. Now for the second bit. If you're a global audience listening to this, international audience listening to this, who've traditionally viewed Indian movies, aka Bollywood, then this is your mythbuster

Hey, I watched Color a few days back and I second your view that there could be no better movie for someone just getting introduced to Indian cinema to test waters with. I love the music track, the costume design, and I think the cinematography was just stunning. Even the pivotal scenes had me take my eyes off the characters on screen for a couple of seconds to actually feast over the immaculate frames and the grand soundscape that ensconced the characters. And I agree that it qala qala qala qala

And yes, this would be a good movie to share with the Western audiences, the global audiences, especially those whose only perspective about India is over the top cheesy Bollywood romcom. There is much more to the level of art history that the country is generating and what they are missing out and the core barrier remains the subtitles. My sense is if they're our site kind of broke some of that loop of going through the subtitles, then Kalak and do it as well
