And the defeat is the dark side of our society. It's the sad part of our society that even in such an informed age, where we are aware, where we cannot call ourselves ignorant anymore, there are people who continue racism, who continue discrimination. All I can say to you, if you're a football fan, race has no goal. There's no space for racism in football in any other space in the sort society
Hey, thanks for speaking out on this. I was not made aware of the racial misconduct towards the France team. That's really hard to hear. Really hard to hear. There's some part of it where you just kind of don't understand why people are not just more I don't know, aware is, like you said, that we're in the information age, the age of awareness

But then you have situations like this where then they want to mistreat those players or not pay them their due on their contracts to play on these teams or not support them like they do other non players of color when they get into trouble off the field. And it's so many different things. That is disheartening to hear. I can't even say disappointing anymore because it's just like, is this type of thing going to ever go away? I doubt it. I honestly doubt it

In fact, we found a lot of similarity, the family ness, for lack of a better expression, that there were lots of families who welcomed us very warmly, and we had meals together, and they shared their stories and cultures and everything, and we did a lot of mythbusting exercises. And so we may not boil the entire ocean we might not change the whole ecosystem or the environment, but at least we can make a small difference to the people in and around us. So the next time I see someone who does not look like me in my neighborhood, I'm going to probably go that extra mile, if required to make them feel more comfortable and to make them feel part of the society, if at all. They could say, you don't need it
