FB Post: A Man Shouldn’t Work 40+ hours and come home to spaghetti 😳

article image placeholderUploaded by @MsColes77
So when people say it's a low effort meal, yeah, it's a low effort meal. When we're talking about daily meals that have to be made. Daily dinner that has to be prepared. Yes. This takes the weight off of her to have to get into the kitchen every single night and prepare you a seven course meal because you feel like that's what you deserve

But do you want that type of woman who will sit home and she can have the time to do this for you? Or would you want the 50 50 woman? Because so far Tyler Perry has put out there that women should accept men who can only pay light bills. So that means she's going to be doing most of the working and bringing in most of the money. So I guess these guys are expecting she's going to be doing most of the cooking, too. I don't know

So the week that I did have my kids, you know, and I wanted, you know, good energy, not being at home depressed, I cooked, so I would order, like, four meals. And so the entire week that I didn't have my kids, I would cook meals. I would have my jazz planned, have my glass of wine while I'm cooking and eating. Sometimes I may have a date, sometimes it's just me. So I love to cook

I don't think it matters if the person spent 30 minutes prepping the food or 2 hours this person had cooked for you and they should be grateful, point blank period for those who can make all their food from scratch and such. Kudos to them. You know, that's, you know, like I said, my dad was, was one of them. I had a great example before me

Clearly this man has never had my spaghetti. Self entitlements are the problem.

And unfortunately for the women in his life, they also have to work. So he's basically saying, y'all need to figure it out. I want my dinner, and I want you working. Yeah. That's what he said. That's what I heard. Oh, my God. That's what I heard. This one is a really good one. And, you know, men and women are. We're two ships passing in the dark. And what I said and what I heard

Let's see, on this post subject. Well, first off, you know, like I think you mentioned, I'm pretty sure you mentioned it. It costs a lot these days to be eaten like that every day. Secondly, any man is gonna be with me, he gonna get what I would, I fix, and he don't need to complain. And I'm going to suggest that he cooks, too

So that can, you know, make things a little challenging some evenings. But my point is I think that we're, I don't know, I don't think men should be so choosy without, you know, if you really want food done a certain way, if you want it to be, you know, top notch gourmet, then you need to hire a chef or I don't know, figure something out

But in this particular case, look, dude, like, please don't talk to me about some. You mad because you got some spaghetti? Okay, cuz that's what's on the menu. Like my mama used to say, you don't like what's on the menu, don't eat

The fact that we have food is such a blessing. I'm so blessed that my husband, you know, he just enjoys, sometimes we have a grilled cheese sandwich. I remember a few nights, especially this year, where he was like, I just want a grilled cheese. I don't mind what you cook. You know, he's always like that, a grilled cheese sandwich, and we're good to go. That's it. Because it's coming from hands that care

Sis, I know that's right. It is on the menu. And you know what? These dudes be saying all this stuff, but they be low key, hating on their married coworkers who are happily bringing their wives leftover spaghetti to work, and they're not having to hit up the vending machines, and they're not having to blow all their money on fast food and sandwiches and convenience store crap food because they can't cook

And then on Sunday evenings, you know, our parents would take us somewhere fancy, which we thought was fancy, like red lobster or something that was fancy to us, and so we would do something like that. But my mom didn't cook seven days a week. But you know what? Whatever she cooked, my dad happily ate. I never heard my dad once complain about, oh, lord, we're having fried fish again tonight

It's like, if you want to eat, unless you're content eating out every night of the week, you're gonna have to cook for yourself. You have to learn how to cook for yourself and take care of yourself. And I don't understand why some men feel like it's beneath them to have to learn how to cook. Why not? To me, cooking is a survival skill. It's not a female thing. It's a survival skill

Just like a woman has to do more than just be cute. She can't just be cute and show up to a relationship and think everything is just going to work out. She got to bring more to the table than being cute. So if we got to bring more to the table than being cute. Then, sir, you got to bring more to the table than being a man. That's just it. So thank you so much, sis

But now that we've got all these super inflated prices on everything, you really trying to spend like $200 a week at the grocery store, trying to make all your favorite foods and all the ingredients that go along with it. And what are we doing with all these leftovers? If you want spaghetti on Tuesday, if you have spaghetti on Tuesday and you decide, I don't want spaghetti on Wednesday, okay, what are we going to do with the leftover spaghetti? Because spaghetti always produces leftovers

And that way when you get home from work, all you have to do is sit down and the chef comes and serves you and you and your wife can enjoy dinner. And neither one of you have to put in any physical labor and making it happen. You just got to make sure you can afford that chef every night to fix dinner for you. But if that's what you want, I mean, hey, you can have what you want. It's just going to cost you

I actually can't believe this exists. Some men just simply dream of a homecooked meal every day. Some men remember it. Some men remember being the ones that earned it. Some men remember being the ones who remember why they didn't deserve it. Some men just love being men. Most love confirmation of manhood. I can't even make it briefest. Briefer. Any briefer than that, really

It was a treat because, you know, we didn't get that unless it was on the weekend or if we had friends coming over or something like that. But, yeah, like you said, the Manwiches. I mean, gosh, and that Manwich was good. My husband and I, we was talking about it, and I said, you know what? I remember how good they were, too. Let's go ahead and have some. But, yeah

But it's just like, for me, it's just like, it's just so, so much that can go into that. And like you said, realistically, coming from somebody that actually likes to work out and take care of themselves, I'm not about to be waiting for you to cook no damn meal, and then I'm eating it at 10:00 at night. At that point in time, I would have been made something

Breezy. This is hilarious. I laughed all the way through your response because you are so right. You are so spot on. And of course, you know, we're on the same page with everything. And so thank you so much for giving us this perspective, and thank you for bringing it to us in such a humorous way. It just gave such great laughs for this morning, but yet it was very rich. So thank you so much

They will just inevitably not be able to appreciate what they do have as much as somebody who once did not have. And I feel like you can agree with that because you're the one who brought that sentiment up. But I think that's absolutely so imperative and worth mentioning here in this context, that to be appreciative, you have to first recognize what the alternative is. Right. They say you don't know what you have until it's gone
