You. The most important issue for women's rights is, I would say, being heard. I think women need the space and the platforms to be able to voice the challenges that they face. We have come a long way in the indian context. We are focusing on education today. We are ensuring that every child, irrespective of whether it's a girl child or a boy child, is getting access to education facilities

It. Yes, I totally agree with your points. And more than them getting a space to be heard, I think women themselves also need to shake themselves a bit, awaken and see the things for what they are and not what they are being shown. So this comes from a very, very deep generational conditioning where women were told that your point of view does not matter. Why are you even speaking?

@Wordsmith Don't take no for an answer!

Having said that, sreeja, bringing out this particular point is essential because, like one of your contributors said in a reply, swell generational conditioning which has happened over the course of two to three generations, if not more. Furthermore, let me add that you might see a little bit of a bias in my swell. This stems from the fact that I come from a matrilineal society, and for a lot of you who are not quite clear about that term, I do not intend to confuse you

Hi, chhaya, thank you so much for chiming in with your perspective. And I think generational conditioning is something that I had in mind when I spoke about being heard, because this kind of conditioning actually restricts people from sharing things that are on their mind, and therefore, it becomes very vital to be able to create safe spaces where they can share their views openly. Um, and though change is, we do see a lot of change happening on the ground, but it is very slow. Right

Yes, it has made a difference to many lives, but like you rightly mentioned, when it comes to relationships, when the dynamics have changed in the new world that we live in, when it comes to the workforce, women as a workforce, gender equality at work, etc. Etc. There are so many battles to be won
