Mask Up

article image placeholderUploaded by @WeddedPath
Not only African societal societies wore mass, but people from the South Pacific. American Indians, Chinese wore masks and they played a significant role. Masks were worn for funeraly purposes. Fertility, purity, and many other cultures warm us to honor spirits, their ancestors, and the dead. Perhaps this conversation is a little bit far fetched. I find it interesting nonetheless. Then we are all mask up for all the aforementioned reasons. What's your thoughts

A good example, like right now is with this Homicron, like we're trying to avoid an illness that is actually milder than what it was previously. So it's kind of like getting the chicken pox. But even better than that, in the past, chicken box is still pretty uncomfortable. But for generations people are doing that on purpose, right? Getting chicken box

Not just to protect self

I want to reframe this, that I don't disagree, that we're wearing the mask to protect ourselves, but in our Church, we have reframed this requirement. Then we've refined it by saying, we are wearing the mask to protect you. We're wearing the mask to protect each other. We are wearing the mask as an act of love and a recognition of the needs of others and the good of the community

And yes, a bit of it is because they're protecting themselves. But seeing that in such a tight community as New York is how dense it is something to admonish, I think something that we're doing in a very symbolic way, sharing love of ourselves and love another person. So I agree with you there. Thank you, Tim, for responding

Thank you for responding. Made me laugh a little bit with your response, but interesting enough, wearing a mask is symbolic. I'm glad you're reading to that point. Some think it's a gesture to show love and self and love for one another, yet others don't think like that. They think that, like you said, shut the F up, is what it's saying, basically because of their connotation of a mask, but how we perceive it
