Is it possible to be very successful without being a narcissist?
Hello everyone. Today I have a very simple question that I need to ask you. So simple that you can just rattle off the answer. But I wanted to give some little thought to that and then answer. So the question is, is it really possible to be very successful without being a narcissist? Even though today's leaders really mostly from the start up world and many of the successful leaders, the first thing that you see is the pride that they have for themselves
Of course, if your definition of success is something very different, if you're only talking about Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos level of success, then I have no clue. That's a whole different here. But if you're talking about Silicon Valley founders who go on to start not just Silicon Valley anywhere
However, the people who behave like that, they are not aware that they are moving ahead with a change in their behavior or the arrogance they are developing. And when you say pride, yes, you are absolutely right. Pride is absolutely being different from being arrogant. But if you talk about the young generation, it actually takes years, lot of years and a lot of hard work to maintain the kind of attitude the startup founders need to maintain

Hi. Thanks for replying. In fact, a great observation. I agree with you probably. I would like to add one more point there. That a lot of NASA people that I see, I think what makes them NASA is also the people around them. They actually push this straight into their mind very forcefully, and they unnecessarily keep praising them just to be in their good books. And I've seen this happening all over the places and I've seen this happening with political leaders

A bad leader will be full of ego, Narcissus and such negative tricks. A truly good leader who you can really look up and work along. They will be more humble, more approachable, probably more something you can learn from. Make them your mentor, people like Steve Jobs and many others. You can call them narcissist whatsoever
