Scientists aren't sure whether phobos and demos are former asteroids that Mars captured into its orbit with gravity, or if they formed out of debris that was already in orbit around Mars. Not to be left out, Europe is going to be involved as well in ESSA's Hera mission. HERA is a mission by the European Space Agency to return to the Didymus dimorphous asteroid system that NASA's Dart mission visited back in 2022
