The original USFL was a competitor with the NFL for talent and managed to lure future stars like Herschel Walker and Steve Young. More have come and gone, including the alliance for the American Football League, which was the AAF back in 2019

But with the writer's strike and actor strike in Hollywood and how long that goes on, and there may be even bigger space and need for programming in the beginning of the year. So this might be the perfect time for spring football to make a sort of a big step up and in a stand to be around. So this is a very interesting story. Thanks for sharing

And the other part that's interesting about this is that the USFL was successful and has been successful in its own minor way, not a major one. And the XFL, the one which is owned by Dwayne The Rock Johnson, had a I believe it was a $15 million loss last year. They both drew relatively the same number of viewers and attendees and advertising dollars, but the one had a greater loss than the other. Not structurally set up, right? I would imagine so

So that will all be questions I would want to find out before this merger to take place. Until then, we have some exciting football going on right now with the NFL and college football, so let's enjoy that for the time being
