Mini Golf

article image placeholderUploaded by @Urbanlegends
Don Clayton, the founder of Putt Putt Golf and Games, was fed up with the trick shots in the Tom Thumb style courses and became an advocate for miniature golf as a serious sport. So he designed a back to basics course of only straight putts, with none of the gimmicks or hazards that players had come to love in the Thumb Fun. Unfortunately for Clayton, his vision didn't hold out

It was really kind of fun. One of the great points that I saw in this Tweet was that as a dad, you are being polite and letting people go in front of you and hit first. But what you're really doing is you're getting a read for the green if you haven't played that course before and you're really trying to understand the movement of the ball and where you should be hitting it. So why it might seem like a kind gesture

Thank you, Phil, for your comments. One thing I'm going to say is please remind me not to play mini golf with you at any time in the near future or for that matter in the distant future. It is ironic and it is interesting when you go somewhere, and especially in mini golf, to see the different attitudes and approaches that people have toward the game itself
