Watching FB spin up in social audio spaces

article image placeholderUploaded by @topgold
So Facebook cops onto that totally about how connections can be created by more than just text or videos or Slideshows. Facebook is also seeing the continuing rise of audio on all the platforms on the main Facebook on WhatsApp on messenger and Instagram. So the engineers are trying to make audio messaging easier for people to record them, and perhaps to send small sound clips to friends or to send audible quotes from popular songs to friends. And they're looking at all this and building other tools

#swell #community

I think one of the things you said really hits the nail on the top. When you refer to Swell as community, that definitely seems to be the culture that they have fostered and perhaps the most important piece that they or one of the most important pieces that they have to offer people is at this point it is definitely like a community, and that would be something I don't see happening on other platforms

@Cartier to be effective in a group dynamic the audio needs to connect to

Yeah. You know, Ryan, I will never forget the initial community or community spirit that I felt that a UK startup called Audio Boom years ago. It's now audio boom. But the community was is totally traumatized when the ownership changed and then other became more advertising, so focused on advertising and content prep

How @youtube ruined their #audioexperience #product

So from an audio consumers perspective or even a video consumers perspective, but because we're talking about audio, they really wrecked the product because you have so many other options to go to. It's so annoying. Why would you listen to YouTube like you can just go to anywhere else? And it's worth paying to go somewhere else because they've irritated you. So I think it's really interesting that you mentioned the monetization. It's a bit of a tricky thing

Audio Of Late Is More Or Less Crickets In The Room Chirping.

We're going to have heat as well as hot and cold water, because we'll be moving the washer and dryer out to that location where both of them are together. It's sort of like what they call a mud room, basically, but it's all going to be enclosed. It's going to be a little different going out the back kitchen door and there's no door there, and it's actually moved out about 7ft beyond that, what used to be the screen door?
