A beach read for the winter - Malibu Rising 🏖

article image placeholderMalibu Rising Audiobook on Libro.fm
I give this like a four out of five stars for what I consider to be a comedy of errors. I didn't really experience this as like a high literary novel, though. I did really appreciate the way it structured. Moving between Malibu in the 80s and 50s and 60s and 70s like the way it moves through time was pretty cool, but overall, it's just super fun

Have not read it. Read Daisy Jones though!

I actually enjoyed the audio of it so much. I don't think I would enjoy reading the book, but the audio was great. And then Taylor Jenkins Reid also wrote Seven Husbands of Evelyn Jones, and that one was I gave it four stars, but it was well done, well orchestrated story structure and things like that. So tell Jenkins Reid is a great storyteller. She comes up with a great I feel great story arcs, great characters. So I will definitely give this one a shot

So I'm really excited to listen to more of her stuff and see what it's all about. And as far as the books we're reading, I'm really excited I'm going to start listening to Salt Houses this week. So more books soon. Bye

It surprised me in a good way and I loved that. There is a connection with The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo because I love that book. I read it a few months ago and I gave it a four stars too. And I think you should check that book out. And there's another one too. Daisy Jones Six. I read that before I read Malibu Rising. I finished that maybe like a week ago and that was pretty nice

I mean, I felt like I could really imagine all the characters, but especially her character felt so strongly to me. And I kind of want to read another book that picks up on where we left off with her. So I'm curious to see how you feel about it and if you feel the same way by the end, too
