What're you reading or listening to this weekend?

Hey, y'all. I am so excited for this weekend so that I can catch up on listening to this audiobook. I just started this week. It's called The Giver of Stars, and it's based in Depression era Kentucky. And the voice actress reading this book is so good. There are so many different accents. One of the main characters is from England, and of course, you have all of the Kentucky accents male and female. It's so good

I’ll be reading some Frued.

So for the longest, I had kind of stopped using Audible, but I've gotten to the point now where I need to get to the root sources of information and stop going to YouTube for second and third hand accounts of the information, because I find that sometimes people paraphrase things when they cover a subject because obviously they've read all the information and the source material. So if they were to talk about all of it verbatim, there would be no time left in the world to do anything

And I understand kind of a falling out, at least for this introduction, due to their differing views on how religion factors into a person's sense of self and in relation to power and communities and stuff. So that's pretty fascinating. The Young book is heady like I definitely realized I can't really read it when I'm tired unless I do want to immediately fall asleep because it's pretty. Yeah. I guess the best way to describe it is heavy, but I'm really enjoying it
