Against the Loveless World by Susan Abulhawa

article image placeholderAgainst the Loveless World
Despite the sorrow throughout, I did feel that there was always this lining of hope and belief in the beauty and tenacity of the human spirit and the story. I will definitely be thinking about and remembering these characters in their lives for a long time to come. So read this novel if you want your mind and heart to expand. I know that's one reason why I'd love to read novels. This is definitely a book that I will be keeping on my shelf

And that was heartbreaking to me because this book deserves more, and it really brings it up to the whole colonialism and own voices and things like that. What are we presenting to the populace? We as in bookstores, right? That would be my question. Isn't that a form of colonialism in itself? Like, hey, let's read these books. Let's not read these books, not read, but it's kind of like let that be there

Thinking more about this book after I read it, and I feel like for me that's the Mark of a book I really love is if I'm still thinking about it weeks after I finished reading it. And that's definitely been the case with this book

Remember Midnight Library live in the moment. So next book is Hamnet for the Book Club. But I'm actually listening to The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue right now, and I'm reading ebook of Zarina. It's interesting. It started out really well. And then now it's getting a little slow, but we'll see, we shall see. And so those are my books I'm kind of plowing through at some point in the next week
