Is Cable TV Dying in America?

article image placeholderUploaded by @TheSimonShow
Furthermore, as consumers continue to flock towards cheaper alternatives such as Netflix, Hulu, or even Philo for their entertainment needs, cable subscriptions become increasingly less appealing each and every day. This trend is only going to accelerate over time as technology continues advancing even further into the future, ultimately leading us down a path where physical cables will no longer be necessary for accessing content at home or on the go

But yeah, I stopped with cable years ago due to the price and then also due to just the monotony. It's just boring because you watch the same old thing all the time. I think the cable is going to be completely done probably in the next three, four years because streaming services have taken over and people are in love with their streaming services for the most part, even though the prices consistently are rising lately

Hey there. Yes, I agree. Cable TV in America is going down the lane. We are a recent family that has got rid of cable with the same factors in mind, because it's very restricted, does not have much options available, which is part of everyday work that we kind of deal with when we come back home. We need to have some variety of stuff that we want to watch, which is not optional for a cable network and also being ethnic in the culture part of it

But I think cable TV will probably go will continue to go through changes, maybe sort of a leaner version where less channels, but more things you're interested in, maybe costs will come down. Maybe these companies will be will have to not be as profitable as they have been losing profit as core cutting continues. So I don't know if I wouldn't write the obituary yet, for cable TV. I think there's going to be transformation and rebranding of what we consider cable television

So I believe it's going to go in that direction even more. But these traditional legacy outlets, sources like having cable TV and all that stuff, I think companies like Philo I don't know if you've ever heard of Philo, but Philo tends to have a package of channels that are traditionally on cable TV packages, but they've taken the more expensive options out of the picture. For example, they don't have sports

I think where they're going to really get people is, of course, broadband. Broadband seems to be the future of these companies that used to be more content driven. Now they're going to be more technology driven. When I see these changes happening, first off, I think they're great. I come from the era where I used to have just 1012 channels, and we used to get up and actually change the television set. That's dating myself, of course

We have a projector that we plug in with a pretty high quality 4K laser projector. Costs way less than a TV but we plug it into a Samsung Soundbar surround sound system and we plug our computer in and use our computer as the brains of the operation and have an entire wall that has a space of maybe 12ft by 10ft that is the TV. Because we just and we only pull it out very intentionally whenever we want to kind of watch a movie or a documentary or be entertained a little bit more

I think a form of it will still be available. Maybe it will be and I think I said this in another reply, that it will be made affordable. Maybe not as many channels, but maybe a basic package to lower income viewers so that they can still keep the stats on how many viewers they have, but they can expand their base by delving into the people who aren't able to afford those big packages every month. It seems like everything's more affordable now
