Assisting Special Needs Students and staff during Lock Down Drills

article image placeholderUploaded by @TheMs.Leanne
Not to mention many of them, as I've already stated, are also physically handicapped, cognitively delayed, and in one case, I have a severely emotionally disturbed student. None of them are high enough cognitively functioning. Right. To quickly assess what is going on in a situation like this. They couldn't just get up and run. The second they saw an active shooter, there was, like, no way. Not to mention how a situation like this can escalate a student. Right?

Hey, Leanne, thank you so much for this information, for your perspective. It really reminds, I think, all of us listening that when you disseminate information, you need to know about who's listening and who's going to be receiving it and who's going to be making it actionable, and what's the diversity of the population, and how can you make sure you have touch points that really reflect your understanding of the needs of people that you're trying to communicate with?
