Beliefs vs. Special Needs.

You. Hey, y'all. Had a very interesting occurrence today. Along with being a special ed teacher, I have a second job. I know, huge shock. They don't pay teachers enough, but that's a conversation for another time. Anyway, I have a second job. I provide respite care, which is basically parents of special needs children. I give them a break, I take care of their child so they can go out and just live life for a few hours

I think living by example is so powerful. When parents are impacted by a community or by a faith, they live into that space of inspiration, and the kid sees that viscerally and literally sometimes. But they really, in my opinion, have to weigh the consequences of bringing a child who's not at peace into a space where it's obviously not going to fit, but what beautiful work you do

Thank. So just briefly, regardless of the occasion or the venue, if you have a special needs child and they are acting out well, in my experience, any child that is acting out is having deep feelings about something and they do not have the words to express it. So I think a lot of people don't take into consideration kids and the respect they deserve. Of course, we need to guide and discipline, healthy discipline, but guide them and respect them as little human beings
