Learned Helplessness

And I have taught this aide these things, but I'm not quite sure if she's afraid how others will perceive her, that she's not helping him or she feels like she's not helping him enough. I'm not quite sure. But again, I have seen this over the gamma many times in many situations with many different kinds of students. I have some students with cerebral palsy that may not be able to use one limb

And it was a painful, painful couple of weeks because her daughter would cry and cry because she couldn't get her arm through the sleeve. I forget the actual circumstance. But Aviv was saying how hard it was to let her cry. That's horrible. What parent wants their child to cry? But she did it. And ultimately, her daughter can dress herself now. And it's that in between liminal kind of area where everyone's desperate, the child's desperate, you're desperate

Thanks, DB. I always appreciate your two cent. Yeah. You know, it is amazing to me that in between time, that's where the toughness lies. It is really hard no matter who you are for a teacher, too. And unfortunately for a lot of teachers as well. A lot of them. And I'm not saying I know everything. I mean, yes, I'm a veteran teacher, so for me, I'm confident in who I am and teaching capabilities
