What Really Makes a Difference?

article image placeholderUploaded by @theJudithLife
I work hard, I have a family. There's a lot going on, but because I'm low energy, I have to be very careful with where I put my energies. I kind of can't waste it because the important things need my energy the most. So when I'm on social media and I hear about events that are disturbing or frustrating, the easiest thing would be to make a retweet, and then all my followers know where I stand and then we're good

So much is going on in our world. It's hard to figure out what creates change. What actions do you take that creates real impact where you live?

Reality vs Truth

Now this universe is complete and our thoughts would create a reality and this reality would guide us to the reality of the universe. And yes, the truth is always there. The laws are always there. We cannot interfere, we cannot change it. Our purpose is to follow our thoughts and the reality created by these thoughts and to find a bridge that connects us with the spirit of the universe without even taking hold of the truth of the universe

Very true that social media, in a way kind of promotes armchair activism, and we feel that we've done a bit by reacting or forwarding or responding to call for action in the comments section, but sadly, that it's not enough. So my way to respond has essentially been volunteering my time to create awareness about topics close to my heart

Have you gone out and found two or three more stories like go find the context that was put in. So I'm trying to help at least my children be more thoughtful about what they read. But something else that I liked about what you mentioned was you are sponsoring just a couple of kiddos over in India, and I think for me I want to have the big impact, but many times it's just other small but powerful

But just for six months, it never went away until I left. But there was an actual pain inside my body that would not go away until I left that job. And Thankfully, I left, and I found a much better one. So in a way, my body knew more than my thoughts did. So I'm wondering if you have any experience with that where I'd love to say it was just your thoughts, but it was almost like there was something

And the question had everything sat other and collected your thoughts and put it in chronological order. So I think you realized it when you said that it was something bigger than it could be Jesus or something else that you believe in. The point is not to find name to it. Yes, the revelation is the focus of attention. And I think this is what evolution is, how everything connects at one single point, other thought traveling through mind and then body starts following the journey

But I think I've been trying to see social media in relation to all of this as a tool for community building and to focus on the ways in which it can positively connect us and raise awareness while trying to be really mindful of how I'm engaging and making sure I'm not using it as a space in a really reactionary way, but to only share things and engage when I can really slow down and actually be present and not just mindlessly sharing or sharing or responding to things when I'm really emotional about something because that generally has not felt very good or led to any sort of positive action or education in my experience

@bowie, lots of thoughts bubbling up for me!

But I also like what you said about donating. Like, sometimes we don't have the capacity to volunteer. That's a legitimate thing for people in different seasons in life. And my husband and I, we watched a show on PBS the other night, and we just walked away and be like, oh, what can we do? How can we help and Donovan or my husband, he was just like, let's just donate. Let's start there. Let's do the easy thing
