Christmas comes but once a year. Jingle all the way. You picked the wrong day. I have been just dying to do this film for years. Like, this is before I even had a podcast. It's a film that I've always loved talking about and revisiting, especially as an adult because I have a special relationship with this film from my childhood. And I did an episode like last week that was discussing the holiday movies and how we don't get them anymore

HAPPY THANKSGIVING 🦃🎄Enjoy a special all access edition of AFS, chatting about Jingle all the way (1996) 🎁 - Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger💪🏼🎅🏼

For some of those more popular films, especially the more violent ones like Commando and Predator, that had really made him such a household name. To me, this was Arnold, a guy that my dad and older brother absolutely adored. A charismatic Jake Lloyd. Charismatic I use with sort of air quotes because I think the jury may even still be out on that one for a lot of people

I think your last point about Arnold going into this with the sort of it's just a family movie mindset is probably pretty spot on, honestly. I mean, I think that he had done enough in his career at that point to be someone who would constantly be referenced and would be sought after for films. And he had already done a little bit of experimentation with, you know, not the christmas genre, but like, more light hearted films

I will point out that a movie like this is really fascinating because, like I brought up, not having John Hughes, not having Chris Columbus, that had just both of them been attached to Home Alone. A movie like this really needed that certain type of expertise and it really needed that certain type of guidance to get the most out of it. And I'll let you hear the second half of this video to kind of express what I'm to kind of understand what I'm trying to express
